short update
Yuki, LG, and I went to Rocky Mountain National Park last month for some camping, crisp air, and exercise. We found a great, new (to us), place to eat there. A little italian place, called Dunraven Downtown. And, we went on a few new hikes, one to Bierstadt Lake (where we saw two moose!), and one to Calypso Cascades, which sounds really lively and ethnic, but was actually pretty sedate.
Yuki's pictures are much better than the ones I've linked to above. You'll see those sometime soon.
LG is quickly adding to his vocab list. A few of the more recent are Hike, Elk, Mooooooose, and Again.

list style
I've got a year left in library school. Then that expense will be gone, and, with luck, I'll have a shiny piece of paper to hang on my wall.
I've got four days until a week off. I'm hoping it'll rejuvenate me. My energy seems to ebb and flow.
In a month, Yuki and I will have been married for five years.
It's the beginning of my favorite season.
For the first time, we've grown delicious watermelons in the garden.
The grape vines thrived this year, but no grapes. I'm hoping for a modest crop next year.
I'm off caffeine, except for rare occasions, when I use it as a stimulant.
I don't eat nearly as much fast food as I used to.
Owen and I go on a 3 mile walk most days.
As a result of the last three, I've lost 25 pounds.
I need to try to find some nice, cheap stationery.

you can't go back
I'm almost ready to launch a big project at work, known as Technical Competencies. It'll be a huge weight lifted when it's launched. Then I can get to other exciting things.
Family life is pretty nice. Yuki's good, and LG's progressing admirably. I guess there's a goal of 50 words by a year and a half. I think he's got that aced. We were on a walk last night and saw a cat. He's been working on 'cat' for a few days now, but he wouldn't say it until we'd walked past the cat.
The last d+d game is on Saturday, for my foreseeable future. I've been thinking a lot about priorities, and right now, d+d is pretty low on the list.

ho-hum
The tedious part of training. Resetting all of the training accounts. I want a class to teach! Who ever thought I'd turn into some moderate form of extrovert?
I need a beard trim. And to get our cell phone situation straightened out.
I've been playing Mafia Wars on Facebook. It's kind of fun.
June will be a busy month. We're going to see phish, and then I'm going to vegas for a couple of days. We're almost done with the kitchen wall and trim painting. Next, upper cabinets.

new post
I'm done with my class for this semester. Boo.
I think I'm taking the summer off to run the d+d game, work on the garden, take a vacation. I've got my grapes in the ground. I hope this silly freezing weather doesn't knock them out. I'm hoping for a meager harvest this year, and then a decent harvest next year, for some delicious wine. It obviously won't be ready by Sake and Samurai, but maybe in a few years we'll have Matt's delicious beer, Song's mom's homemade sake, and my red wine.
My bracket is pretty much dead. I only picked 4/8 elite 8 teams. And only 1 of those made it to the final 4. Better luck next year.
I'm pretty excited about playing d+d again. I'm hoping it will be good.

A little time to post. The baby's asleep. He was wiped out when we got back from adventuring.
I think this weather is just about perfect. If it could stay about 40-50 degrees for most of the year, then get cold in the winter (for the snow), I'd be happy. I'm hoping to get a chance to smoke a pipe tonight. It's been a while.

I've been hoping for the 'payoff' of library school for a year and a half. And there hasn't really been one. It seems like all of the stuff I'm learning could (and has) just as easily been learned by a few years at a public service desk. There have been bright moments, but they're few and far between. I do the readings, think critically about them, and all of that, and those are where the bright points are (the articles), more than anything. It's not really from the lectures, and certainly not from the textbooks.
My rain gauge has a crack in it, so all of the water runs out. I'm going to get a new one.

I started a new blog. I wasn't updating this one anymore. You can check it out if you're interested.
